Katy Perry: Bravery is more important than success

'Roar' hitmaker Katy Perry has claimed it's more important to be ''brave'' than successful.

The 30-year-old pop star - who was married to comedian Russell Brand from 2010 until 2012 - has claimed she's never been driven by career success and has no ambition to change the public's perception of her.

She explained: ''There's only ever evolution. It's not levels of success that have been the goal - I think anything that is true and honest and connective will always be successful. ''For me, it's important to be brave and try new things.

A lot of people have ideas about me, and that's fine, I'm in no rush to prove them wrong.'' Katy also revealed she has a go-to outfit for when she wants to avoid attention from her fans. She told Wonderland magazine: ''If I am in my Adidas cape of invisibility, I am always wearing headphones, hat and sunglasses, no matter if it's night or day. Because these big ole bulging eyeballs give away my identity.

I don't respond to anyone calling my name.'' Meanwhile, Katy recently revealed that her new pixie haircut was inspired by reality TV star and showbiz matriarch Kris Jenner. Alongside a snap of her new hairdo and emojis of scissors and baseball caps, Katy wrote on her Instagram: ''I asked for the Kris Jenner.''
