Recording artist Trey Songz has made a stunning chart debut with his hugely anticipated new album, “TRIGGA.” Described by USA TODAY as an “… engaging sixth album, TRIGGA (*** out of four), is a statement of intent – not of a bold new direction, but rather of the singer’s determination to solidify the hitmaker’s pedigree he’s worked hard to earn.”
With over 4 million in streams at paid subscription accounts and a little over 5 million video/audio views on YouTube, the collection – which includes the hit singles “SmartPhones,” “Foreign,” and the RIAA gold certified “Na Na” – entered the SoundScan/Billboard 200 at #1 with sales in excess of 100K.
In addition, “TRIGGA” debuted at #1 on Billboard’s “Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums” ranking. This marks Trey’s 2nd consecutive #1 album on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart. Trey Songz is also the first artist to secure the top spot on Billboard’s new “Artist 100” chart that blends information culled from sales, track sales, radio airplay, streaming, and social media to provide a multi-dimensional ranking of artist popularity.
Internationally, “TRIGGA” made a splash overseas from the UK to France to Portugal, Africa and the Caribbean’s, entering the charts amongst the top 10 on the i-Tunes Charts.
Trey just freshly graced the main stage of the 2014 BET Awards where he performed “Na Na” and went on to celebrate the release of “TRIGGA” with an iHeart Radio Listening Party, as well as headlining the opening night at this past weekend’s 20th Annual Essence Music Festival in New Orleans.
Trey’s sixth studio collection, “TRIGGA” follows 2012’s blockbuster “CHAPTER V,” which debuted at #1 on both the SoundScan/Billboard 200 and Billboard’s “Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums” charts, fueled by such hit singles as “Heart Attack” and “Simply Amazing.” “TRIGGA” is also available in a Deluxe Edition, featuring four bonus preview tracks from the forthcoming “TREMAINE,”.
