7de Laan proved once again to be the most loved soap in the country after winning the Best soap’ award at the Saftas for the third year in a row.

Although many were expecting new kid on the block Isibaya to walk away with the main award of the night, it was the Afrikaans drama’s fans who had the last say.

7de Laan also won the award in 2012 and 2013.

Isibaya did not walk away empty handed but managed to grab most of the awards it was nominated in, including the award for the ‘Best Writing Team TV Soap’.

Siyabonga Thwala took the Best Actor TV Soap award for his role as “Mpiyakhe Zungu” and Thembi Nyandeni’s role as “Mkabayi Zungu” won her the Best Actress TV soap.

Thwala also won the ‘Best Actor in a TV Drama’ gong for his role in Intersexions: Season 2.

Actress Tina Jaxa proved that she still has what it takes as she earned herself two awards for the night; Best Actress in a TV Drama and Best Supporting Actress in a Feature Film.

I CANNOT believe that Akhumzi can win an award and the likes of Bheki Mkhwane(Samson on Isibaya) ,One of the most talent actor to grace our screens recently. Samson single handedly drew scores of viewers to be glued on their television sets. I cannot believe he did not win anything,he made a lot of appearance than Mpiyakhe who was kept as a Zombie. Days would pass without seeing Mpiyakhe let alone hearing him talk.....DISSAPPOINTED

I agree with you 100% percent. I share your sentiments. It's really a fuss that Siyabonga (who hardly ever acted on Isibaya) get the nod for the best actor. I really like Siyabonga, but his award is a serious joke. I am sure some Isibaya cast members feel for the likes of Simon and his on-screen troublesome brother Mandla.

These awards are no longer the same. They used to be popular but these days ....NO.....I didn't even know they were happening this weekend. I hear you Retard regarding Mpiyakhe. I'm with u 110%. I saw Zikhona Sodlaka (pic 19) on Saturday and she was looking great than in this pic. Too much make-up can spoil the look. Please don't get me wrong its good to experiment sometimes but try it while home not in these functions. I love her shoes though
