'South Africa, I love you': Rolene Strauss

“I will do my utmost best every single day, because it is about so much more than us...”

All eyes are on Miss World 2014. 22-year-old beau Rolene Strauss has put South Africa on the map again as she trended on Twitter throughout the world for taking home the title of Miss World 2014 at the beauty pageant held in London.

Strauss, a fourth year medical student who is passionate about health and women, shared her feelings and gratitude on Instagram about being the new Miss World.

She wrote: “Words can't possibly describe how blessed I feel at this moment... This is as much a responsibility as it is an honour. I hope to make each and every one proud. Thank you for the support South Africa, I love you!

“I will do my utmost best every single day, because it is about so much more than us...”
