Shia LaBeouf is keen to stay sober as he worried about embarrassing his 'Fury' co-star Brad Pitt during the international press tour of the movie.

The troubled star - who is currently on an outpatient programme for alcohol abuse - is trying hard to kick his addiction to booze as he's afraid of embarrassing his 'Fury' co-star during the upcoming international press tour for their action movie, according to TMZ.com.

The 27-year-old star decided to seek professional help after he was arrested in New York City last month for allegedly yelling offensive language and slapping people's bottoms during a 'Cabaret' performance. His publicist said at the time: ''Shia LaBeouf has not checked into a rehabilitation facility but he is voluntarily receiving treatment for alcohol addiction.

''He understands that these recent actions are a symptom of a larger health problem and he has taken the first of many necessary steps towards recovery.'' Shia is due to appear in court in New York later this week after he was charged with harassment, disorderly conduct and criminal trespassing following his bizarre behaviour in Studio 54 theatre in June.

Meanwhile, the actor's friends and family became increasingly worried about the star earlier this year after he stormed out of a 'Nymphomaniac' press conference in Berlin, before arriving on the red carpet for the film's German premiere wearing a paper bag on his head that read, ''I am not famous any more.''
