The shows also featured American songwriter and singer Leroy Bell, the Soweto Gospel Choir, an orchestra and an unusually big band. Both shows were sold out by Friday afternoon.

When Zahara took to the stage on both nights, she was met by deafening screams from the capacity crowd. In both shows, Zahara paid tribute to the late township disco queen Brenda Fassie and South Africa's universal Afro-ethno music icon Miriam Makeba.

A number of Zahara's fans came armed with toy, cardboard-cut-outs or miniature guitars which they strummed excitedly along with their idol.

A discord of sorts occured when Zahara introduced Bell. The crowd was initially silent before welcoming him with loud applause. The crowd was apparently expecting Kaya FM's highly popular Georgie Manyosi instead because some people were heard shouting Georgie! Georgie! when Zahara announced that the person they were all "waiting for" was about to ascend the stage.

Instead of Manyosi, it was Bell who went on to perform a memorable duet with Zahara, accompanied by the Soweto Gospel Choir and the orchestra. The song, titled Brand New Day, was well received by the crowd.

When Bell performed solo, the crowd clapped appreciatively.

I must add that Bell is a brilliant guitarist and a talented vocalist.

Curiously, even though Zahara has collaborated with Manyosi on the popular song Incwad'Encane, she seems to shy away from featuring him in her numerous concerts. I think this disappoints her fans.

The DVD is expected to go on sale in early August.

Zahara, a very talented woman. I hope she will do the right thing and leave TS records asap.

Talent means nothing if you have nothing to show for it. when your bosses rob you blind. leave and do what you do best with people who will give you what you truely deserve financially

I agree with @CheeseBoy, if Zahara doesn't catch a wake up now,,, Learn from Lira, she left Arthurs' "999" and look how well she did thereafter.

@CheeseBoy, hahaha... why are many people eager to see Zahara blow her money like most artist out there, did you know that nedbank is using her for one of thier invesment campaigns as she is investing with them and apparently she has a good investment with them, is it wrong for her to be money wise and not turn like most artist who end up broke.

You've said a mounthful my brother, doesn't have to show off, she's still new in the industry, she must take her time, make up her mind and spend her money wisely.

I enjoyed the show can't wait for the DVD.

I hope I got the raki part right. May any Xhosa tell me what raki is. Is it a small blanket? What is the lady actually saying? Is she going to Joburg becasue she is getting cold? What about iDuvet incinci? Is she saying ndi bolekeni iduvet encinci nale raki?

I just love that song(Xa Bendingena mama). Powerful voice.

As for me, I hope TS records is not cheating her. As long as she is being fairly paid what is due to her, there is no problem. Whether she buys a car or not, that is not our problem. We have different priorities and it is none of our business what she does withe her money. It is like bra Kenny Kunene, whether he makes women sushi plates or not it is none of our business. Nobody tells us what to do with our money.
