Renowned afro-pop and jazz sensation Judith Sephuma joins Clash of the Choirs SA, a new reality show on Mzansi Magic as a choir master for her hometown in Polokwane, Limpopo auditions search to find aspiring choirs and singers this Saturday.

She is an addition to the list of other list of South African musicians such as Zwai Bala, Idols SA season 8 winner Khaya Mthethwa and Zakes Bantwini. The show is also set to premier next year January.

Sephuma expressed her joy and told Sowetan that: “I am very thrilled to go back to my hometown for the Clash of the Choirs and I am looking forward to seeing the talent that lies in Polokwane and Limpopo as a whole.

 “We saw these kinds of shows been introduced internationally but to have our own adaptation of it, it’s an amazing feeling” she said.

Sephuma said that she was not allowed to give any further details about the show but referred us to the management team.Mzansi Magic’s publicist Bongiwe Potelwa confirmed that the show will premier in January next year.

These auditions will take place on December 1 and 2 at Fusion Boutique Hotel, 4 Schoeman Street, Polokwane from 8am to 6pm. 

The winning choir will walk away with R500,000 which will be shared into half to charities of their choice and R250,000 for the choir.

Judges will be announced next year.
