PHETLA has received many awards from 1998 to 2002 and took part in international ballet competitions such as the Prix de Lausanne, the Cecchetti Ballet Competition in Australia and the Helsinki Ballet Competition.
She obtained her Cecchetti International Teachers Qualification in 2002.
She performed as a guest artist, locally and internationally, and has danced leading roles in Giselle, The Dying Swan and Les Sylphides among others.
She was a founder member of Mzansi Productions in August 2008.
In 2010 she choreographed sections of Carmina Burana for Mzansi Productions.
