Chipmunk wants to open a school

The 20-year-old British rapper wishes everyone in the UK had the same opportunities, so would like to find some way of using education to help those from disadvantaged backgrounds do better

He says: "Something close to my heart is giving people who came from the same background as me more opportunities.

"I've always said I want my own secondary school, I haven't quite thought of how I can do it because people who come from where I come from have minimal resources and unfortunately, not everyone makes the most out of it."

Opening a school is not the only way Chipmunk – whose real name is Jahmaal Noel Fyffe – wants to encourage young people.

The 'Chip Diddy Chip' hitmaker recently headed a hunt to find the UK's next Rhyme Master in a competition in association with Britain's National Literary Trust.

He urged entrants not to self-aggrandise, and remain true to their roots, whatever they may be.

Chipmunk said: "Always be yourself, talk about what's true to your life, because whether small or large there is someone that will relates and the worst thing you can do is make people fall in love with the character you're portraying to be - So just be yourself, go for it".
