Hypnosis goes local with album

EMERGING DJ Osman "Hypnosis" Mkhondo is a happy and proud man because he has released a house music project with locally written songs .

Hypnosis' new album, titled Candi Roots, has also seen him work with other DJs, such as Mphoza and Cuebur. On this album he made all the tracks without having to import songs from other countries, a fact that he says makes him proud.

With the growth of house music in this country, Hypnosis says young producers are being ripped off by established DJs .

This he says after he gave a prominent DJ, whose name is known to Sowetan, the rights to use his song on one of his successful albums, but later refused to pay him R30000 as per their agreement.

He seem to have learnt his lesson though, as he now cautions his peers about the importance of educating themselves about contracts and other related legal matters.
