Cracking jokes just for you

STAND-up Comedian Loyiso Gola, is celebrating a decade of cracking jokes with a big show at the Lyric Theatre in Johannesburg.

Titled Life and Times, the show is back for two nights on November 11 and 12.

Gola also hosts a weekly show on e.tv.

Born in Gugulethu in Cape Town, Gola is without a doubt one of South Africa's most gifted comedians of his generation.

With his sharp wit, unmistakable charm and unique thought-provoking style, Gola has been enthralling, mystifying and entertaining audiences for a decade.

His first one-man show, Loyiso Gola for President, enjoyed huge success and has earned him rave reviews.

Gola has performed on stages in the UK, the US, Dubai, Nigeria, Mauritius and neighbouring Botswana.

Gola says his journey has been full of madness and during this time he has experienced life.

"My comedy has evolved while the country has navigated through some interesting times; socially, economically and politically."

In Life and Times, Gola brings to the stage some of his most celebrated material that he amassed over a decade and has interwoven in a narrative that includes content about the events and people who have shaped the country and the world.

Given Gola's affinity to frank and observational social commentary as well as political satire that has been richly honed by his outspoken television show, Life and Times goes where no other comedian has gone before.

Tickets are available at Computicket.
