On the 'why note' - Artists need us only for promotions?

PHOSHO is curious about some of the strange things happening in the entertainment industry.

When Black Coffee - one of South Africa's biggest DJs - was doing his charity work last year, every media house was there to support him. Some of us even went as far as to camping outside Maponya Mall.

But, surprisingly, on the day he got married he wanted no journalists in sight - despite their always having been there for him.

Loyiso Bala did the same thing. Why do celebrities only want journalists around when it suits them?

During the African Fashion Week, which took place last week, it was very interesting to see young designers such as David Tlale showcasing their latest outfits.

But I nearly fainted when I spotted some guys wearing skirts. Apparently its a new trend - or so they say. Take a moment and imagine a man wearing a skirt in Noord Street!

New kwaito kid on the block, Bullistic, has just bombed the music scene with his new song, Mamasita. Apparently DJ Tira was trying to use his influence among certain DJs to prevent them from playing his song because he wanted to be the only one played on radio.

Still on the issue of music: why are people still fighting to separate kwaito?

Some say there is a Durban kwaito, others say there is Jozi kwaito. Some people can be so serious about nothing!

Yes, apartheid tore people apart but why would they go and separate themselves instead of being proud of something they created? Heh?

Batong, why is the king of kwaito, Arthur Mafokate, still releasing albums and why is he still fighting with young boys like DJ Cleo?

Phela Arthur is a veteran. Newspaper reports in recent months had it that the two are fighting over a new song called Hlokoloza. Why Arthur, why? Broer, maybe its better that you concentrate on mentoring the young ones.

Still on the "why note" - DJs such as Glen Lewis, Claude, Malankane and Fistaz still use lots of overseas tracks when doing compilations when there is so much talent here at home. Why?

Zakes Bantwini is probably one of the undisputed artists in this country, but then again, Phosho still fails to understand why the guy is not getting any awards for his music. Is someone trying to say he is not good enough?

Nonhle Thema, yes the one who once bragged that she was filthy rich and tweeted that she could buy the whole of Yfm. Sisi, why did you do that? Was it really necessary? Phosho will never understand these celebrities, really, they are much too complicated!

DJ Fistaz left Metro FM to join Kenny Kunene's business empire. But it was not long before he took the exit door.

Phosho is still very curious to know what really went down. Fistaz, please give Phosho a call.

Nomasonto "Mshoza" Maswanganyi, who is now married to a businessman, is reportedly changing her skin colour so that she looks like a madam. Why would you do such a thing, sisi? Is it a confidence thing or lack threof?

Recently SABC1 changed The Bold and the Beautiful time slot from 6pm to 6.30pm. Why? Phosho was just wondering...
