UKHOZI FM's breakfast show host Linda Sibiya is spreading his wings to television.

Sibiya, a well-known motivational speaker, is the presenter of a new gospel show Gospel Classics on SABC2.

The show that premieres on November 13 replaces Gospel Time, which is presented by Rebecca Malope on the 8pm slot on Sunday.

The brains behind the show include Thabiso Pitso, Bongani Ntshanga of Malaika as musical director and Mojalefa Thebe.

Sibiya promises an entertaining show that will be enjoyed by both young and old.

"We are bringing something new and very unique.

"The show is full of exciting features that people will love," he says.

"We have added a funny slot where we will showcase the other side of gospel musicians. Gospel Classics will have a motivation slot that will be hosted by Pastor Sthembiso Zondo. He will touch on various subjects."

Sibiya adds that when they interview musicians they don't ask "your typical questions".

"In our interview slot, we try to find the story behind the story.

"We are asking musicians things that people do not know about them."

He says the highlight of the show is a music feature where they invite musicians of all genres to perform.

"People should expect to see musicians such as Zahara, Mafikizolo, Judith Sephuma performing classic gospel songs. We have allowed them to choose their own classics."

He says the idea of the show started last year as they did their research and realised that this type of a show was lacking on television.

Sibiya says he has grown since he started working for Ukhozi FM.

Sibiya has been with the Durban-based radio station since 1995.
