WITH her upcoming local tour titled Captured, Lira has lost her inhibitions and decided to show a bit of leg.

The Daveyton-bred songstress has always hidden her long legs under long dresses.

However, she told Sowetan the other day when she breezed into our offices that her days of covering up were over.

She is about to open a new chapter ... and that includes showing those legs that go on and on.

Lira said: "For as long as I can remember, people have always teased me about my thin body and longer and thinner legs.

"I realised that as I grew older it became difficult to shed the hang-ups of those imperfections that in reality are neither that bad nor serious enough for me to do something about.

"However, the other day when we were putting together a wardrobe for my upcoming American tour, I decided to add a few short numbers that look stunning on me. I have finally reached that stage where I am comfortable with what I've got.

"No matter how much I moan, it's not going away, so I might as well embrace it," says the Afro-jazz singer who says she hopes that her change of heart might just help other women in the same space.

Lira is adamant she is doing it for herself and other women who share similar hang-ups.

The great reveal starts during her local tour, which is being sponsored by Nokia. Captured kicks off at Carnival City on September 30 while her US performances start in February next year.
