YFM twins are back in a big way

HATE them or love them, the twins that a lot of us have known as those two DJs on YFM and lately axed from Mzansi Insider are back in a big way.

I am talking about Hlelo and Ntando Masina, pictured, who refer to themselves in local showbiz circles as Twinz rather than twins.

The two now have their own show on e.tv. It starts today and it is sure to get TV audiences talking.

We are not going to pass judgment on the content of the show. At least not yet. But I have no doubt that people will talk a lot about the twins and their show very soon.

In fact, people, both admirers and detractors, have been talking about the Masinas' other shows for a long time now.

Well, those who love their television will want to know what the twins have in store for them in their debut show tonight. I know I am.

Hlelo and Ntando's reality show is aptly called Blame It On Fame and it will air at 8.30pm.

Unlike other reality shows, the spotlight is on Hlelo and Ntando's lives.

Produced by Rapid Blue, the 13-part reality series is the first locally produced show of its kind and it promises to give South Africa more glitz and glam than a sushi and champagne party and some startling revelations that not even a search engine could provide, according to the producers.

"e.tv is excited to launch another locally-produced show.

"Blame It On Fame is a high-quality Kardashian-styled reality series and a first of this format to come from South Africa. Rapid Blue have done a great job in giving viewers a peek into the lives of the famous. And who betterthan the bubbly twins to give the scoop on Mzansi's celebville," says e.tv channels division group head Monde Twala. Well, it is Twala's job to sell this show and the verdict ultimately rests with the viewers.

Rapid Blue executive producer Kee-Leen Irvine says: "Rapid Blue is thrilled to be able to create this show for e.tv and Hlelo and Ntando stood out as the absolutely perfect choice.

"Beautiful, warm and engaging, these lovely ladies are a delightful duo who live a dizzying lifestyle of glitz and glamour, parties and events.

"Yet, through it all they remain down-to-earth, good women who have strong values that are often tested in the celebrity world and sometimes leave them faced with tough choices.

"I hope the viewers will be as delighted with the look-in to their lives as we've been," Irvine says.

Judge for yourself at 8.30pm tonight whether this is the ultimate South African reality show or if we have been sold a dud.
