Dance form to vent anger in a non-violent way

It's called Krump - Kingdom Radically Uplifted Mighty Praise

TWO East London dancers will be looking to make their city proud when they take part in the Krump Olympics, which will be held in Johannesburg tomorrow.

Regional Krump Olympics winners, Siyabulela Baduza, 21, a Damelin College student and 18-year-old Beaconhurst High School Grade 11 pupil, Chesline Lethoko will take on the country's best in the national event.

Krump is an acronym for Kingdom Radically Uplifted Mighty Praise and is a dance form started by youngsters in the US as a means to vent their anger in a non-violent manner.

Baduza said he had started Krumping in 2009 after watching the smash hit dance movie, 'Stomp the yard'.

He did some research and discovered that the dance was used as a means of venting anger in a non-violent manner.

The Johannesburg event will feature 20 solo acts and three of the hottest crews that won the regional Olympics.
