Mkhize keeps Joyous crowd on their feet

The group was recording their 15th live DVD

HE MIGHT be the shortest man on stage but Lindelani Mkhize clearly knows how to keep a crowd entertained.

This was evident at the packed International Convention Centre in Durban on Saturday night.

The talented Mkhize, who is also a founder, producer, composer and conductor of the famous spiritual group Joyous Celebration, kept the crowd on their feet during their MTN-sponsored concert.

The group was recording their 15th live DVD. The show started with a grand entrance by choir members clad in matching maroon gowns.

After the group's first song the stage became dark and the group removed their gowns and were left with matching purple dresses, while male back-up singers were wearing grey suits.

To keep their fans up to date with songs being performed on stage lyrics were screened.

Sunday World yesterday reported that on Friday the concert nearly failed because the ICC management decided to double-book the venue at the 11th hour.

Mkhize had said that the group would never perform at that venue again "if the ICC management continued to double-book the venue and if they received the same ill-treatment meted out on them on Friday".
