Parasitic fleas are excellent jumpers

FLEAS, which can be found on cats, dogs and other warm-blooded animals, are parasites.

They live on other animals and survive by sucking their blood. The warmth of a cat or dog's fur is the perfect environment for a flea to live and breed.

Fleas have small round heads with mouth parts that are perfect for sucking blood from their hosts. They have small bodies, no wings and three pairs of legs.

They are also excellent jumpers; they can jump 17cm into the air and 30,5cm sideways. - Tell Me Why?, Chancellor Press
