Turtle born with its shell

HAVE you ever wondered how a turtle gets into its shell? Well, it happens the same way you get into your skin - turtles are born with their shells on, they are part of their bodies.

The shell has two layers - an outer layer of hardened skin and an inner layer made up of bony plates that are part of the turtle's skeleton. -
