A blot on SA values

THE South African Institute of Race Relations report revealing that violence and HIV-Aids are attributable to a 75% increase in the number of fatherless children is a dark blot on our nascent democracy.

I still disagree that single parents bring up 'bad' children. It simply is not true.

There is a big difference between a father and a sperrm donor. Too many young women fail to see the difference and go for the 'bad boy'. A 'father' who beats his wife, takes drugs, is abusive or a criminal - they are not worthy of being given the title and should not be the primary male role model of any child.

Educating women is the answer. Sweden doesn't have many married couples but they don't have these problems because their women are emancipated.

Research has shown that the absence of father figures in young people's lives leads to the development of a dysfunctional youth that cannot cope with the challenges of a society that seeks to rid itself of its dark past.

Per my understanding the problem is not men but the circumstances that push the away from their kids and the article says so.
And many men, women and children dont get is that you're still a father even if you're unemployed or what and children must know as well that even if your mother or father have nothing she/he is still yours and you one day gonna need him/her just be next you one day.
