Zenani who?

Well, she's Nelson Mandela's daughter and her title comes from marrying a little-known Swazi prince.

For anyone with ambitions of their own, it surely must be hard to live life in the shadow of a father who is a world icon. Every mention the princess gets is because of her familial links.

Now, to remind those who might have forgotten about her, Zenani issues a statement on the occasion of her birthday to an audience that wasn't even listening. She asked members of the media to allow her to celebrate the occasion with friends and family "without any intrusion".

To all intents and purposes, the media's reason for camping outside Madiba's Houghton home is to await further developments regarding his health, not the news of some prima donna turning 52.

Anyway, happy belated birthday, ma'am.
