Peer pressure

Deep inside echoed their whispers, That I wished would die like flowers that have withered, They told me alcohol was like a palatable journey done, Church they said I should leave its time would come

Our dreams railed together upon the same path

The one that in a distant future I’d feel its wrath

As all my friends had called a teenager’s desire…

Were more like an awaiting hell fire

I still wish I had stung like a hornet

At that moment when they had me cornered

For their smooth tongues were covered with blazing bile

The one that has left me with scars instead of a smile

Why did I kill… lie… got drunk & drugged… and steal

It’s because I listened to friends like these
