Manyi confident he will lead BMF until 2012

EMBATTLED Black Management Forum president Jimmy Manyi this week came out with guns blazing

He asserted he would still be president after this week's annual general meeting.

"I will still be president of the BMF after the annual general meeting. No doubt about that," was Manyi's words.

Speaking to Redi Tlhabi on Talk Radio 702 yesterday, Manyi said he was unfazed by calls for him to step down.

Last week former BMF presidents Lot Ndlovu, Nolitha Fakude and Bheki Sibiya called on him to step down at a press conference.

"I can tell you that the branches and structures were shocked by these allegations. It is not true that I want to change the constitution. It is not the prerogative of the president to do that, but the AGM itself."

He said he was elected unopposed as president and had until 2012 in his presidency.

"People confuse confidence and arrogance. I am a confident person. I do my homework and know the facts, and people call that arrogance," he said.

"Every year as we move along people come up with bright ideas that require a review of the organisation's constitution," Manyi said.

The AGM takes place today, followed by a policy conference ending Friday.
