Letsoaka smells win over Chiefs

It has not quite gone according to plan for Serame Letsoaka at Bloemfontein Celtic but he's got a good feeling that his first victory as coach of the Free State club will come against his old friend Steve Komphela of Kaizer Chiefs.

Phunya Sele Sele have not tasted victory since September 27 .

A change in the coach - Letsoaka came in for Clinton Larsen - was meant to bring about a change in fortunes for the club, but Letsoaka is still waiting for his first win following a defeat and a draw in matches against Chippa United and Ajax Cape Town.

Letsoaka is pretty sure that Celtic's barren run will come to an end on Sunday when they host Amakhosi at Free State Stadium at 3.30pm.

"I see that win coming against Chiefs. We are hoping they will not be able to match us because of the Free State heat," Letsoaka said.

"We will use speed to unsettle them. I know Steve has got some injuries in his team, but we cannot take them lightly.

"But we need that first win to get a boost in confidence."

It is Letsoaka's first match at home and he is keen to make a mark in front of the Siwelele faithful after last Friday's 2-2 draw at Ajax Cape Town, where Frank Mhango and Thapelo Morena scored for Celtic.

Seventh-placed Celtic last kept a clean sheet in October when they played to a goalless draw against log leaders Bidvest Wits.

"The goals we are conceding are worrying [but] we are working on it," the former under-20 coach said.

"We have not won since I arrived but there have been some positives from our matches. Before I arrived, the team had gone five matches with just one goal scored and that was a penalty. Now we have scored three goals in two matches."

Celtic will be without Mthokozisi Dube, Bevan Fransman and Keegan Buchanan due to injury while Tshepo Rikhotso looks set to start for the first time since returning from the CAF Under-23 Championship in Senegal. Meanwhile, Amakhosi's latest signing winger William Twala could make his debut for his new club.
