On set with producer Terry Pheto – PHOTOS

Actress Terry Pheto has now added the title of producer to her accolades.

She is celebrating10 years in the acting industry and now Pheto  has launched her production company, Leading Lady.

She is currently on set filming her first movie as producer  – “Ayanda and the ­Mechanic.”

The film is set in Yeoville and it is a coming-of-age story. 

“Its about, Ayanda an afropolitan in Johannesburg, navigating the first steps of adulthood", Pheto said in an interview with The Times.

Starring Kenneth Nkosi, Nthathi Moshesh  and 'un Fulu Mugovhani and directed by  Sara Blecher.

The movie also features Jafta Mamabolo and Thomas Gumede.

 

“It’s a family drama,” said  Pheto, “and I love it ­because it has a female lead … And Fulu truly is Ayanda, and embodies her spirit.”

The film is scheduled for release in the first half of 2015.

Since ‘Totsi,” Pheto has had role in “Catch a Fire” opposite Derek Luke, “Goodbye Bafana” with Joseph Fiennes and Dennis Haysbert, the action drama “How To Steal 2 Million,” and last year’s “Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom” opposite Idris Elba.
