Socialites come out to play

CAPE Town Fashion Week was a great excuse for every fashionista and her botoxed grandmother to come out and play in the Mother City this week.

The three-day event started on Thursday with some cool pre-parties that had Shwashwi run ragged by the end of the night.

First off was the Belvedere party at the tiny Orphanage Club in the Mother City's CBD - not exactly the perfect choice for such a large crowd.

Socialite and celebrity commentator Jen Su was there in a hot Jenni Button number that she killed with casual knee-high boots. Whatever happened to a good pair of heels, Jen?

Ms Su was there with her Cape Town BFFs: TV presenters Kia Johnson and Liezel van der Westhuizen, both looking super-hot in bright hues.

Shwashwi spotted actress Natalie Becker getting flirty and way-too-happy with two distinguished gentlemen on her arm. I hope she refrained from going home with them - they seemed to like her company just a tad too much.

Booty

Caught TV presenter Tracey Lange snapping photos of her sexy booty for Instagram. I would, too, if I were that perky in a gold Mari and Me mini.

And she didn't hesitate to bond with Expresso TV star Katlego Maboe, who seems to be quite the chick magnet for some odd reason. Katlego was dateless for the evening and didn't seem to mind the attention at all.

Shwashwi had to get away from this action before things got out of hand.

So it was off to the Amstel Lager Best of SA Music series at QV54, another quaint venue in the Mother City.

Sama winners AKA and DJ Kent were the main attractions and DJ Loyd and Leighton Moody - dubbed Cape Town's finest - kept the crowd entertained with some great house and commercial beats.

Among the few Cape Town famous faces spotted was Expresso insert presenter Danine Naidoo looking on-trend in a ghetto-chic outfit consisting of hot pants, leggings, denim-studded jacket and black sneakers.

Comedian Siv Ngesi, who is always opinionated, both on social media and in real life, was not too keen on getting down on the dance floor with Cape comedian Angel Blythe Campey.

Shwashwi was impressed by the turnout of wannabes and unknowns, who didn't mind drinking at the bar like Women's Day was a religious observance, thanks to the Amstel drinks vouchers.

Kia, who was at the Belvedere do, made a quick pit stop at the Amstel bash before dashing home to her baby girl.

A note of caution to Hectic Nine-9's Danilo Acquisto: if Shwashwi sees you looking like that again she will slap you with a repeat fashion crime citation for donning that green suit you've worn in public at least twice in the past three months.
