A well-known Afro-pop chanteuse is set to become an instant millionaire after her husband agreed pay her R1.3m and give her a multimillion-rand property in an affluent Joburg suburb as part of their divorce settlement.

The businessman husband has also agreed to pay her R10,000 per month in spousal maintenance and give her two of their four luxury vehicles.

The singer's husband, who was also a politician, will keep two of their luxury Mercedes Benzes.

The details of the estranged couple's division of their rich estate were contained in the divorce papers filed by the singer at the Joburg high court two weeks ago.

According to the settlement, which was attached to the divorce papers, the husband, who was cited as the defendant, agreed to pay R1m to the songstress within seven days of the granting of the divorce decree. He also agreed to pay the songbird R300,000 to purchase furniture and household items.

"The defendant agrees to pay the plaintiff R1,000,000 (R1m) in full and final final settlement for her portion of the joint estate, within seven days of the court granting a decree of divorce. The defendant agrees to pay the plaintiff a once-off amount of R300,000, which shall be set aside for the plaintiff to purchase household furniture and effects," read the papers.

The husband will get to keep a 2015 Mercedes Benz S400 and a 2011 Mercedes Benz E200 convertible while the popular artist will take with her a 2007 Mercedes Benz Sprinter and swanky 2015 Range Rover Sport.

The politician also agreed to pay R10,000 towards the maintenance of their only child who was living with the artist.

In the papers, the singer said she filed for divorce after the two, who got married in community of property in 2004, drifted apart and started living separately in March this year.

"The parties have drifted apart and lead separate lives and the parties are no longer interested in the continuance of the marriage.

"In the circumstances, the marriage relationship between the parties has broken down irretrievably," read the papers.

Both the singer and her soon-to-be ex-husband couldn't be reached for comment. They had also not responded to text messages.
