In a police statement seen by Sunday World, Shoki said she was working on some projects for Thobela FM in the dining room of their marital home in Kibler Park when Sebotsane walked in holding a glass that contained what looked like alcohol.
"The husband then started to talk with her. Suddenly she was assaulted. She moved out of the dining room. He threw the glass that he was carrying on the ground," reads the police statement.
The statement further said Sello punched her several times in the face, stomach and solar plexus.
"She sustained injuries to her stomach, face and legs. The complainant (is) in possession of a protection order," reads the statement.
Speaking to Sunday World yesterday Shoki, who plays Cecilia Kunutu in the SABC1 education drama Skeem Saam, said her husband walked into the dining room and asked her why she was punishing him.
This because Shoki had not been sharing a bed with him but sleeping with their kids in a separate room.

Skeem Saam actress Shoki Sebotsane was strangled twice, punched several times in the face and in the body by her husband Sello Sebotsane in two separate incidents of domestic violence that occurred at their Kibler Park home, south of Joburg.
He apparently attacked her after accusing her of depriving him of his conjugal rights.
The former Muvhango actress sustained injuries to her face, stomach and legs after the assault that occurred in front of their sick child.
After the fracas, Shoki obtained a protection order against her husband and later opened a case of assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm at the Mondeor police station. The two faced each other at the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court this week after the incident that happened in 2016 as Sebotsane faced a charge of assault .
Sebotsane declined to discuss the case with us.
"I don't have much to say because we have two kids and I am thinking of them. All I can say is the law must take it's course," he said.

"He said we needed to talk about this but I told him I wouldn't be able to talk about that then as I was about to prepare to go to work.
"I was sleeping in the kids' room because he disappeared from home for a week and when he returned he never bothered to explain his whereabouts and I kept quiet and never asked him about it," she explained.
"He told me that I couldn't expect him to go to work and come back and sleep alone in the bedroom," she said.
She alleged Sebotsane, in a fit of rage, strangled her in front of the kids during the fight and also damaged the microwave.
She explained how she called out to the kids to call the police as she was scared he would kill her.
NPA South Gauteng spokeswoman Phindi Mjonondwane said: "The matter is still in court and all the details will be ventilated in that forum. We are not at liberty to discuss the details of the case with the media at this stage."
The case will resume on August 22.
