The Hawks are investigating a case of theft against the executive committee members of the International Pentecost Holiness Church (IPHC) after R300-million was allegedly stolen from the church's premises in Silo, Zuurbekom.

The case was opened by lawyer Malesela Daniel Teffo at the Bekkersdal police station on the West Rand in January.

It was later transferred to the Hawks where further charges of racketeering and money laundering are likely to be added onto the theft charge.

Hawks spokeswoman Ndivhuwo Mulamu confirmed the case was referred to them.
