Siyabonga Shibe leaves Scandal

Film and television actor Siyabonga Shibe is leaving the small screen.

The actor announced on Facebook, that he was leaving eTV soapie Scandal.

Shibe played Kila, a smart, shrewd and violent taxi driver.

He wrote: “Geez I can’t believe it’s done…I was shooting my last scene at Scandal. I will miss the people I met there and some will continue to be my friends and continue to work together on other things. Thank you guys for supporting Kila!”

“It was good while it lasted its time to move on. My last scene i shot today at Scandal. Enjoyed the character Kila and the show. New adventures are ahead. Thank you guys for supporting Kila and me on scandal but d time has come,” he said.

In August he wrote; “D time to say Adios to.....is approaching. I had a fabulous time n u supporting me it is greatly appreciated n may u continue to do the same on my future endeavours.”

Shibe was introduced to the local television viewers through Gazlam in 2002, playing the role of Sifiso. He played the character so well that he was awarded the best actor award in the Duku Duku Awards.

Hailing from Umlazi in KwaZulu-Natal, Shibe studied drama at Natal Technikon, now known as Durban University of Technology. After graduating in 1999 he moved to Johannesburg and his first part was in the feature film The Stripes Of A Hero.
