It's rough at the top - even to keep a simple job.

Former YOTV presenter, Hulisani Ravele, was initially set to host the South African of the Year Awards (SATY) over the weekend but was booted off in preference for Bonang Matheba.

The reason Hulisani – who is also known as Cece - was replaced in a short space of time was because of a fall out on money.

It is believed that Ravele demanded a big package to host the inaugural SATY awards.

In light of her money request, ANN7 made a quick switch, approaching Matheba to host the glitzy event.

A source told Sunday World that Ravele, who presented the “I am South African” on ANN7 TV, wanted more money than what was offered.

A few months ago, Ravele was punted as the forefront girl for the prestigious awards, attending radio interviews even hosting a show related to the awards.

She had tweeted had excitement and created quite a build for the awards.

Asked about the sudden change to her role, Hulisani confirmed that she could not host the show because of money issues.

“It was strictly a business deal, we did not come to a money agreement,” Ravele revealed.

Matheba also hosted an exclusive dinner held the night before the awards. It was attended by VIP guests including president Jacob Zuma, the Guptas and DJ Sbu.

Ravele’s absence was noted at the dinner.

She explained that she was invited but she had netball priorities that evening.

“As for missing the Friday dinner, I had to attend netball. I missed the whole season and I wanted to be part of the session,” she said.

Ravele’s the “I am South African” show came to an end after airing for three months.
