METROFM veteran DJ Eddie Makhosonke Zondi stared death in the face as robbers attacked him and his family last Friday.

Zondi (47) was yanked from his slumber when the thugs got in through the window of his house in Ruimsig, Joburg.

He did not want to be interviewed by Sunday World about the robbery.

But he tweeted about the incident to the rest of the world.

"Its been a traumatic day for me and my family after being robbed at gunpoint this morning, thanks God we alive," the presenter posted on Twitter.

Speaking to Sunday World briefly this week, Zondi said: "Thank you for the interest and the concern, but I would rather keep my private life private.

"If it doesn't have to do with my work, I would rather not speak about it."

Zondi presents Romantic Repertoire on MetroFM every Sunday from 3pm to 6pm.
