OLD Mutual and Missing Children South Africa have joined KayaFM in the search for Palesa Madiba.

The 21-year-old University of Johannesburg (UJ) student has been missing for nearly two months. She was last seen on Monday, August 12.

She was visiting her friend Tshidi Mkhwanazi in Phiri, Soweto.

KayaFM, which responded to the family's plea for assistance, has been joined by Old Mutual and Missing Children South Africa to raise awareness about missing persons.

"We want people to know what to do if it happens to them," said Nicky Rheeder of Missing Children South Africa.

The awareness campaign was launched three weeks ago. Supporters distributed flyers as they walked from Jabulani Mall to Phiri, where Madiba was last seen. Another walk will be held next Saturday, from UJ's Soweto campus - where Madiba was studying - to Maponya Mall.

Family spokesman Thabiso Tsoledi, Madiba's cousin, said they'd be happy to help others going through the same ordeal.

Police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Lungelo Dlamini said the investigation continued .
