FOR those who enjoy the outdoors while marvelling at the beauty of a river, the Vaal River Carnival is the place to be.

Some of the events to look forward to include today's Vaal Tropika Beach Sunday Chilling Session at the Dick Fourie Stadium from noon until midnight.

For lovers of vintage cars, the Wheels at the Vaal at the North West University's Vanderbijlpark campus is the perfect place to ogle some of the doodlebugs that were the in thing from the early 1900s right up to the '80s. This display started yesterday and continues all of today.

As is the tradition, the cherry on top will be the much-loved Jazz by the River, which takes place later this month.
