After the confirmation of the four teams to participate in the Carling Black Label Cup on November 12, supporters of Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates are crossing their fingers that they meet again in the MTN8 final on November 5.

The supporters are excited that they will be treated to back-to-back Soweto derby matches with the two sides to face each other in the league on October 29 and then meet in the Black Label Cup second semifinal on November 12.

Both teams have the possibility of facing each in the final before the Carling Cup should they win their MTN8 semifinal second legs later this month against Mamelodi Sundowns and AmaZulu. The other Black Label semifinal will see Sundowns face AmaZulu at 9.30am and Chiefs v Pirates at 12pm at FNB Stadium.

Amakhosi supporter Masilo Machaka said they are praying that these two teams also go on to reach the final of the MTN8.

“We are excited that we are playing Pirates on the 29th and in the Carling Black Label and we are crossing fingers that we play them again in the MTN8 [final],” Machaka said yesterday.

“As supporters, we are always excited when we play against Pirates and after two years of not going to the stadium, we can’t wait to go and watch these matches.

“But it won’t be easy for them against Sundowns. You must remember that Sundowns have quality and experience. Pirates do have a squad but I don’t think they are capable of beating Sundowns.

“But it will be exciting to play them three times in a row.”

Pirates super fan Dejan Miladinovic said they are excited to play Amakhosi in the league and in the Black Label cup and are hoping they meet again in the cup final.

“It is very nice to play Chiefs in succession and everyone is looking forward to going back to the stadium on the 29th and after that, it’s a Black Label so it’s going to be fantastic,” he said.

“Supporters will be coming in big numbers and hopefully we will meet against each other in the MTN8. You never know what will happen and we will see in the second leg.”

Other supporters from both teams also shared their excitement about the possibility of the two teams facing each other three times in succession.
