Scoring three goals in the last five matches has left SuperSport United versatile player Aubrey Modiba motivated.

The 22-year-old feels he is well-suited in the offensive role than playing as a left-back.

Though he insists he is always ready to play wherever the coach deploys him, Modiba concedes he takes joy in playing as a winger.

"Lately, I have been playing as a winger and I am enjoying it," Modiba told Sowetan.

"It gives me more space and I can also be in the pocket. I like attacking a lot but I also have to do my defensive duties as well. Wherever the coach puts me, I will play and produce my level best," he said.

He continued: "It is a great feeling to be on the score sheet. I make sure that I am always in the [opponents'] box, even in training I always work on my finishing. If I can keep on believing, I think I can score a lot of goals this season."

Whiles some local clubs might be taking things easy owing to the Fifa break, Matsatsantsa-a-Pitori are in camp, preparing for a tough trip to Lubumbashi in DR Congo to face TP Mazembe in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday (3.30pm).

The return leg is scheduled for Lucas Moripe Stadium the following weekend.

"The preparations are on track. We will be training on an artificial turf because we must get used to it.

"We are focused on the final and the spirit is high in camp,'' said Modiba.

Players like Clayton Daniels, Morgan Gould, Dean Furman, Ronwen Williams and Jeremy Brockie are still on international duty with Bafana Bafana and are expected to link up with their club mates later this week before they depart for Congo on Friday.
