Although Orlando Pirates are in the quarterfinals of the Telkom Knockout, coach Milutin "Micho" Sredojevic is aware that they need to find solutions to their goal-scoring woes if they are to be a force to be reckoned with.

Pirates narrowly beat Lamontville Golden Arrows 1-0 to book their berth in the last eight of the competition at the weekend, with in-form winger Thabo Qalinge finding the crucial goal in Durban.

Since the beginning of this season, the Soweto giants have only managed to score more than one goal in a match once, dating back to last month's 2-2 league draw against Polokwane City.

Following their victory over Arrows - which was the KwaZulu-Natal side's first defeat this season - Sredojevic admitted that their bluntness in front of goal is worrying.

"We create many chances but cannot convert them. Today [Saturday] we won the game but I accept that it is (scoring only one goal) a worrying factor. After scoring one goal we always hope the floodgate will open," said the coach.

Amid the Bucs' struggles to find answers to their problem, Qalinge once again proved to be the go-to-guy for goals. He has already scored three goals in all competitions.

"In man-management we give him trust, confidence and a belief in himself and his football qualities. He respects the badge and gets these fine performances," said Sredojevic.

Micho has also expressed his desire to see more of his players being called-up to Bafana Bafana. Sredojevic also confirmed that Wayne Sandilands, who was rested against Arrows, will face his former side, Mamelodi Sundowns, when the two teams clash at Orlando Stadium on Wednesday (7.30pm).
