Richard Commey - Dogboe's home boy in Accra - will oppose Russian Isa Chaniev for the vacant IBF lightweight title on February 2.

The rangy boxer, who beat current SA lightweight champion Thompson Mokwana at Emperors Palace in 2015, lost his next two fights. But he bounced back to win three fights - two by stoppages - and his last being against Yardley Armenta Cruz of Mexico on August 4.

Commey comes from the same city where Azumah Nelson was widely regarded as the god of African boxing. He is also considered worldwide as the greatest African boxer of all time.
He had a stellar amateur career, competing at the 1978 All-Africa Games and the Commonwealth Games in the same year where he won gold medals in the featherweight division.
Nelson retired as a professional boxer in 2008 with only six losses against 39 wins with 28 knockouts and two draws.
Nelson and Brian Mitchell remain the only African fighters to be inducted in the International Hall of Fame in New York.
