Continued Zonke: "What has happened is that Khulile is lobbying promoters to join the Matiti group. So how does a board member interfere in the structural issue. What are his interests?"

He said they also wrote a letter to Ngatane asking how did Matiti's tournament go ahead without boxers' purse monies being deposited with BSA.

"We want to know if all board members were part of that decision," stated Zonke.

Ngatane responded: "I think it is their democratic right to write to the minister and also request that the board be dissolved. We did ask them for the constitution; so far we have four sets of constitutions from them.

"We are dealing with all their complaints but if they want us to deal with them their way then I am not sure."

Radu said: "I have no response because I do not know what Tando is talking about."

Chair of the Eastern Cape Boxing Promoters Association, Tando Zonke, has called for the dissolution of the Boxing SA board.

Zonke says they are so vexed by the conduct of BSA, and especially chair Peter Ngatane and board member Khulile Radu, that they have written to sports minister Tokozile Xasa requesting that she appoint an interim structure.

"The current board can no longer be trusted," said Zonke on Monday.

The seven-member board was appointed by former sports minister Thulasi Nxesi in December and its term ends in 2020.

Zonke, of TZ Promotions, said: "We had [provincial] elections on May 20 and there were problems because the structure that was chaired by Ayanda Matiti still believed they were still in control yet their one-year term had already ended.

"BSA came down to East London for a fact-finding mission. BSA promised to sort this confusion out and they promised to come back to us and they never did. In July, we had our first general meeting, and Ngatane called me and asked me to send to him the amended constitution so that they as the board [can] look into it."
