Boxing veteran Moruti "Baby Face" Mthalane has been warned by American boxing trainer Jeff Mayweather not to read too much into the professional boxing record of Muhammad "Falcon" Waseem, who will oppose Mthalane for the vacant IBF flyweight title at Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Sunday.
Mayweather trains the 30-year-old Pakistani at the gym of his nephew Floyd Mayweather jnr in Las Vegas.
Jeff, 54, is the youngest of the three Mayweather brothers who are all former boxers. The others are Floyd Mayweather snr, 65, and 54-year-old Roger.
Jeff's charge, who has held the WBC Silver title, is undefeated in eight fights, with six knockouts.
Waseem is understood to have had more than 300 amateur fights and represented his country in 15 international tournaments including the Commonwealth Games.
Speaking through the Mayweather Boxing Channel, Jeff said: "Waseem is a phenomenal boxer. He is not a guy that I have to teach things. He knows how to fight. I am just fine-tuning things. Waseem is more than ready and excited. I expect [great] things from him."
Waseem said: "I am sure of a win. I had a tough camp under Jeff for 45 days. We enjoyed the camp and I am going to knock out Moruti."
Mthalane, 35, is a formidable former IBO champion with 24 knockouts in 35 wins against two losses. The boxer/fighter from Lindelani in Durban is trained in Johannesburg by successful trainer Colin Nathan.
Mthalane, Nathan, assistant trainer Vusi Mtolo and cut man Bernie Pailman have been in Malaysia since Sunday.
The IBF title that Mthalane and Waseem will be fighting for was vacated by Donie Nietes of the Philippines who moved up to the junior bantamweight division.
WBA welterweight champion Lucas Matthysse will defend against Filipino ring icon Manny Pacquiao in the main bout.
