Promoters jump to help sick girl

Associate boxing promoters Rodney Berman and Jeff Ellis announced that their tournament - dubbed AmaBhungu Akusasa - to take place at Emperors Palace on Sunday will be used to raise funds to help support Raquel Barnard Stewart, a three-year-old girl who is suffering from a severe heart condition.

The two altruists have helped many people, including former world boxing champions who have hit a low financially. Ellis said Stewart was born on September 4 2013 with a heart defect called tetralogy of fallot. Her grandmother Sandra Stewart said the toddler had her first operation at three months.

Berman said: " With luck we can help ease the family's financial burden."

The tournament on Sunday will be headlined by the WBC International mini-flyweight vacant championship between Deejay "The Real" Kriel and Dexter "Kidmama" Alimento from the Philippines.
