Clement "Slow Poison" Kamanga is out to make a name for himself against Willis Baloyi in one of the bouts that will be staged by Shereen Hunter's Unleashed Combat Sport at Presleys in Boksburg next Thursday night.

Kamanga, 26, is the older brother to WBA Pan African welterweight champion Paul "The Natural" Kamanga.

"I'm going there to make my name known," Kamanga, who is trained in Booysens by the promoter's husband and former professional boxer Lionel Hunter, said yesterday.

"I have always been behind the scenes because I never wanted to be seen to be competing against Paul. I've got a feeling that this is going to be my time. People will be hearing a lot about me in future."

Clement made it clear that although his 24-year-old brother has relocated to the UK, he is very much part of his career.

"I want to create my own legacy and not live under Paul's shadow" said Clement, who also revealed that their father is their number one fan.

"Our mother passed on in 2000. The support we received from our father when we started boxing is exactly what we needed to pursue our careers."

Regarding his fight, Kamanga said: "On paper Willis has more fights than me but I aim to step up my game and have no doubt that I will win."

The tournament will be Hunter's second since her first in April.
