Boxing action back in Eldos

Boxing returns to Eldorado Park tomorrow night where Victory Sports Productions will present an eight-bout nursery boxing tournament at Don Mateman Hall.

The venue used to host super boxing matches, including a shootout between Dingaan Thobela and Ditau "Diarora" Molefyane in 1988.

Promoter Shanell Winlock uses the hall as home for her company, and her bill tomorrow - dubbed the "Gauteng Blockbuster" - will be headlined by a vacant Gauteng provincial welterweight championship between Tebogo Malose and Zenzele Ntanzi.

It also features a bevy of prospects from Eldos, including BSA 2016 Female Prospect of the Year Melissa Miller in a six-round bout against Ugandan Nathaline Bania.

Other local prospects such as Anslin Booysens, Steve Dewu, Antonelle Marre, Tumi Nakedi and Khaya Mbeje will also be in action.

The stacked card will also feature former SA heavyweight mixed martial arts champion Danie "Pitbull" van Heerden, who will face Marre over four rounds.

Action will begin at 6pm.
