Ndongeni yet to meet his match in contests

Xolisani "Nomeva" Ndongeni may not realise his fullest potential when his management continue feeding him nobodies.

The top ranking 2016 boxer of the year has been matched with unknown Ghanaian Razak Nettey, who has 20 wins in 24 bouts.

Their non-title fight will take place in Cape Town on May 28.

Ndongeni, 26, is rated No 5 by the WBA, 12th by the WBC and 15th by the WBO.

Ndongeni, from Duncan Village, has the potential to take over from the likes of former WBO and WBA title holder Dingaan Thobela and former WBA and IBF Brian Mitchell.

These two icons campaigned in the lightweight class where Mzonke Fana rules with an iron fist.

But Ndongeni has already beaten Fana just to prove his mettle.

Last month, he knocked out unknown Tanzanian Emilio Noffart in less than a minute.

Ndongeni was converted from being a rugby player into being a boxer by Mzamo Njekanye - BSA 2016 trainer of the year - before the boxer left him and joined Johannesburg-based Colin Nathan who has been in charge of Ndongeni's last three fights.
