Gerda Steyn hit the proverbial jackpot with her record-breaking Comrades Marathon up-run win.

In finishing the race in a time of 5.58.53‚ she broke Elena Nurgalieva’s 2006 record of 6.09.24.

Edward Mothibi won his maiden Comrades in a time of 5.31.33.
