Bedeman is over the hill - trainer Rass

Boxing trainer Keith Rass insists Jason "Badman" Bedeman is a spent force who cannot shatter Prince "The Demon" Dlomo's chances of challenging newly crowned SA lightweight champion Thompson Mokwana.

Dlomo, trained by Rass in Eldorado Park, is rated No 1 for Mokwana's title.

Dlomo takes on Bedeman over 10 rounds in the welterweight division at Presleys in Boksburg on Thursday night.

Rass said: "Prince's No 1 rating will not be affected by the outcome of the fight against Bedeman because we will fight Jason at welterweight, which is outside our weight division.

"Without sounding like I am underestimating Jason, the truth is he is a spent force. I know what I am talking about. I was in Jason's corner when he lost to Sacky Shikukutu in Namibia last year," said Rass in reference to Bedeman's points loss in a WBO Africa title fight.

The former IBO All Africa and WBA Pan African lightweight champion is trained by Manny Fernandes and Domanic Chrystal.

Bedeman has not fought since this defeat, which was his third against 18 wins with 15 knockouts.

Dlomo has six wins and six losses.

"Jason was mediocre against Sacky.

Come Thursday night the demon will be unleashed," vowed Rass.
