Golden Arrows beat Maritzburg United 3-1 to book their spot in the Nedbank Cup last 16 at Princess Magogo Stadium on Sunday.

Coach Clinton Larsen’s troops made their intentions clear early in the first half when Zambian international Kudakwashe Mahachi’s well-taken shot narrowly went just inches over the crossbar in the 11th minute.

The home side took control of the game in the first half following poor decision-making by Maritzburg United in their defence.

Goals by Ronald Sibusiso Sibeko‚ Lerato Lamola and Kudakwashe Mahachi were enough to send their side through to the next stage of the tournament.

Coach Roger de Sa side deserves a credit for their second half display despite trailing by three goal in the 1st half.

Maritzburg created one great chance to pull one back in the second half‚ with Brice Moon’s cross from the right picking out Percy Maboe. – TMG Digital
