Things are not looking good for Platinum Stars but head coach Cavin Johnson has insisted that they will beat the drop and keep their Premiership status.
After their 2-1 loss to Mamelodi Sundowns on Tuesday, Dikwena remain in a precarious 14th spot just above Highlands Park and Baroka, who were both promoted last season.
Johnson has insisted that they are playing good football and will soon move away from the bottom.
"I have no doubt that we will stay in the league with the way we are playing. I don't think it is a worry and it is about maintaining the physical conditioning of the players and mental toughness. I'm sure they will come out of it," said Johnson, whose side has now lost seven of their 17 league matches.
"Nobody has played us off the pitch [this season]. If there is one game I feel one team really played me off the pitch was the season before [2015-16] when Bidvest Wits beat me 4-0 here at Royal Bafokeng. But not one team has done that this season. So I'm positive about that," he insisted.
Stars were largely outclassed in Tuesday night's game in rainy Phokeng, but looked to have pulled themselves back into the game when Sphamandla Mlilo cancelled out Themba Zwane's opener, only for Khama Billiat to find the winner for Sundowns.
The 58-year-old Johnson felt they deserved a point against Sundowns and that there were positives to take going forward.
"We both played a good game of football, under the conditions. Yes, maybe they had a few open chances they should have put in, but my players defended well."
Stars will next face Bloemfontein Celtic away on Saturday at Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium (3.30pm).
