What Sundowns are up against

Zamalek's CAF club competition history: Along with DRC's TP Mazembe, they have won five titles each, but they have not been in the final since they last lifted the trophy in 2002.

Domestic form: Zamalek have only played one league match this season, while two others have been postponed due to their participation in the Champions League. They are in 11th place on the league table.

Key Player: Mahmoud Abdel Razek Fadlallah (aka Shikabala) is a left-footed midfielder who is a good passer of the ball and dangerous on free-kicks.

Top scorer: Striker Basem Morsy has four goals in the competition.

Road to the final: The White Knights began their campaign with a 3-0 aggregate victory over Union Douala of Cameroon in the first round. They then beat Algeria's MO Bejaia 3-1 on aggregate to book a place in the group stages. Two victories over Enyimba of Nigeria booked Zamalek a spot in the semifinals.
