MTN8 quarterfinal heroes and villains

Heroes: Menzi Masuku The former Orlando Pirates player scored on debut for Chippa United, 15 minutes after coming on as a substitute.

Man of the match Thembinkosi Lorch played a delightful pass into the box for Masuku to finish and secure a convincing 2-0 victory for Chippa.

Shuaib Walters

Walters made his first appearance of the season for Cape Town City against Kaizer Chiefs on Friday and brought his A-game. He was named man of the match after making saves to deny Lewis Macha, Ramahlwe Mphahlele, William Twala and Edward Manqele.

Villains:

Isaac Nhlapo

The Platinum Stars central defender Nhlapo played a back pass to his goalkeeper Mzimela but because there was no power behind it, Chippa United striker Rhulani Manzini was able to intercept and put the ball into the empty after rounding the Dikwena shot stopper.

Felipe Ovono

The goalkeeper has to take the blame for Pirates' early exit in the competition. Ovono, backed by coach Muhsin Ertugral after making a handling error against Golden Arrows in the league last Wednesday, did not do himself any favours with his two costly mistakes on Saturday. Pirates lost 2-1.
